WHEELS

For best results use Flitz Buff N Polish Ball. Apply small amount of Flitz to wheel: ( chrome, aluminum,  magnesium, stainless) spread on low speed,  finish with high speed.  Wipe any residue with Flitz Microfiber Cloth for a smear free exceptional shine.

*Some wheels have a clear coat.

*See below CLEAR COATING ON METAL.

ALUMINUM TIP

For large aluminum surfaces Flitz may be applied with a slow speed, or random orbital buffer.  Lambs wool, terry cloth, or foam pads may be used.  Wipe surfaces with baking flour or cornstarch to remove black residue. To remove black residue around rivets or crevices, a solvent, such as Denatured Alcohol, may be used.

Heavily Oxidized Aluminum

To save time, an acid precleaner can be used to remove stubborn oxidation and salt water staining on aluminum.  We use Eagle One Chrome & Wire CleanerTM.  If you are unsure about this process call or visit www.flitzpolish.com for specific details avoid damaging surfaces.

DIAMOND PLATE ALUMINUM TIP

Use Flitz with a Buff N Polish Ball to reach all grooves and crevices.  Some Diamond Plate has a clearcoat.

*See below Clear Coating On Metal.

CLEAR COATING ON METAL

Flitz will not harm or remove clear protective coatings such as lacquer or polyurethane etc.  To remove the tarnish beneath the lacquered finish, you must first strip off the lacquer coating.  Use lacquers stripper or paint remover (available at your local hardware store). Aclear coating may be reapplied after polishing if desired.

POLISHING by HAND

For Brass, Copper, Bronze, Aluminum, Mag Alloys, Stainless Steel etc… Applying FLITZ with paper towel will act as a mild abrasive and help to remove heavy tarnish faster.  Finish with a soft microfiber cloth.

HEADLIGHTS

Apply Flitz directly to headlight lens and run  Buff N Polish Ball slow to spread the Polish out.  Now increase speed fishing at high speed for an exceptionally clear finish.  Note: Some headlights have a clearcoat or film over the lens.  This may require wet sanding to remove the film.  Use between 1500 to 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper to wet sand the film off.  This method may also be used to remove minor scratches or sand pitting. After sanding Polish with Flitz.

Plexiglas & Eisenglass

For cleaning water spots and light stains use Flitz with a damp Microfiber Cloth, buff with a clean dry Microfiber Cloth.  For scuffmarks and discoloration use Flitz with a dry Microfiber Cloth or a Flitz Buff N Polish Ball.

AIRCRAFT PLEXIGLASS

Always perform a test spot in a small unnoticeable area.  Use Flitz  instructions for HEADLIGHTS.  If using the sand paper tip, use sandpaper on a sanding block to minimize any distortion to window.  Be sure to finish with the Flitz Microfiber Cloths for an exceptionally clear view.  Use Flitz Speed Waxx to maintain clarity.

FIBERGLASS & PAINTED SURFACES

Flitz safely removes oxidation, sun fading, and minor scratches on fiberglass, Plexiglass and painted surfaces.  For large fiberglass and painted surfaces Flitz can be applied using a variety of buffers. 1. To use a Flitz Buff N Polish Ball to remove oxidation and light scratches, add a small amount of Flitz directly onto the surface to be restored.  Then run buffer slow at first to spread polish out.  Continue to run buffer on high speed to finish. 2.  a slow speed buffer (Under 1000 R.P.M.) may be used.  3. A Random Orbital buffer designed for this purpose may also be used.  If polishing by hand, apply FLITZ with a damp cloth, buff with a soft dry cloth.  For exceptional shine and luster finish with Flitz Speed Waxx.

Water Stains

Shower Doors/ Glass Windows/ Metal fixtures etc. For stubborn water stains, surface rust, and lime deposits, apply Flitz with a nylon blue or white 3M TM Scotch Brite pad to act as an abrasive.

Heat Discoloration

On chrome exhaust pipes, truck stacks and stovetops, warm up the surface (not hot), apply Flitz, and let penetrate 3 minutes, then rub briskly with a paper towel or microfiber cloth.  Up to 3 applications may be necessary.

REMOVING Rust ON METAL

Use Flitz with #0000 steel wool or a white 3M TM Scotch Brite pad to act as an abrasive. Bronze wool may be used for marine applications.

GUN CLEANING

Put Flitz onto clean gun patch or bore brush.  Lightly scrub inside the barrel.   This will remove lead or copper fouling.  Then buff the bore with a clean gun patch.  Also, use Flitz on a soft gun patch to remove powder residue from the front of revolver cylinders.  Flitz safely removes rust on factory gun bluing.

HEAVY TARNISH AND ANTIQUES

(Brass, Bronze, Copper )  If metal is very dark or green a precleaner can be used. (Use caution, Wear Gloves) Wipe or spray Eagle One Chrome & Wire CleanerTM onto metal surface to be cleaned.  Let penetrate 5 to 7 minutes, repeat if necessary.  Wash off with baking soda & water.  Polish metal with Flitz.
